FATAL RAIDS IN DOVER

The legend beneath the map reads, "The above map presents the places where 184 bombs from enemy aeroplanes were dropped on Dover, and where 23 shells fired by enemy vessels struck the Town. The aeroplane raids extended from December 24th 1914 to July 18th 1918. The first bomb on England was dropped near St James's Church; and the last on Swingate Downs on May 25th 1918, but this was outside the above area."

A black dot represents a bomb, a black asterisk a shell.
