Tower Hamlets Wesleyan Mission Hall

This was an oak tablet, on which was written:

The electric light in this hall was installed in grateful memory of them who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-18

William John Becks
Arthur Dawes
Albert Godden
Edward John Hedgecock
Edward Charles Hopper
William Trayton Smith
William Charles Smith
Thomas Hutchins
Albert Edward Champion
William Charles Stubbs
John William Smith

And as a thanksgiving for those who safely returned

The Mission Hall has now been converted to private dwellings. The whereabouts of the plaque is unknown and members of the mission before it amalgamated with St Columba and The London Road Primitive Methodist Church and gained a new home at The Beacon do not recall having seen it. They believe that it may have been destroyed when the Chapel was severely damaged during bombing in World War II.
