Influenza & double pneumonia.
Mr Denne was probably the Manager of Dover
Bathing Establishment which was open, tides permitting, from 7am
till 8pm on weekdays and on Sunday mornings. A half hour session
in the tepid seawater swimming baths cost 6d, towels and
swimming costumes included. Available for hire were also boxes,
from which to swim in the sea. Mr and Mrs Denne also offered
swimming lessons, at the rate of 12 for 10 shillings.
