The left tablet reads:

To the Glory of God and in grateful memory of John Morris late of Abbotscliffe, Hougham, this tablet is erected to commemorate the restoration of this Church, the cost of which was defrayed by Mr Morris. Also as a memorial of his benefactions to the poor, to whom he was a true and constant friend. Died 22nd March 1905, interred in Highgate Cemetery, London

The right tablet reads:

In Loving Memory of Arthur Capel Morris of the 12th Lancers att 1st Royal Munster Fusiliers, alte of Capel-le-Ferne who gave his life for his Country on 27th November 1915 at Gallipoli, aged 22 years. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John XV 13
